Grad Night Yesterday.

Grad night was fantastic. Everyone was in a good mood and going crazy! Yes, even the teachers haha. The event brought to mind nostalgia and really memorable moments and it was really a heart warming experience. (To an extent..) There were slide shows, teachers dancing and dancing chefs too! Haha.. Oh and of course tesimonial collection. The food was average though.

The best part of the night was that our close brotherhood here in st.pat's really came out. I hope it stays that way as we embark on a much more perilous journey ahead.*Sigh*.. I'm gonna really miss the culture here and the teachers too. Great teachers like Mrs.Ong who care for their students rather then being money-driven. (*ahem. Chee wei ). Anyway enough of this, here are the pics.

Hell yeah!

Okay so jamming today was really productive. We did pretty well despite being extremely ill-prepared haha. Enter Sandman by Metallica came out nice, we had a perfect intro and Dance of Death/Hallowed By Thy Name by Iron Maiden was done quite smoothly too. Didnt do much with the exception of these 3 songs.. played some blues riffs and random solo-ed for around.. half an hour? Haha..

Yea but today was just to warm up and get a feel of jamming after months of stagnance! Ahhhhhh yes it feels great to hear the sound of heavy metal and experience the tranquility it brings when played in a studio.. Simply amazing.
Dam but months without hardcore guitar-ing has left my fingers all soft and blistered after just a few Riffs! Time to start scale rushing again..

Until next time friends.. in the words of Iron Maiden : " Run to the hills! "

Update.

Update.
The 20th.The o levels are officially over..celebrated by having a very filling and well deserved feast at subway with jared and co then went to watch " The Convenant ". The action sequences were neat but the storyline was really predictable and too fast moving. The show only lasted 1 and a half hours!
Ended off the day at Peninsula buying gauntlets and badges..

The 21st.
Went to see the boss with Jared, Lai, Siew, Edward, Elliot and some other peeps today and got our inquiries answered. I'm pretty optimistic about whats to come as the job seems really interesting and the terms are fair too.

In case you guys were wondering i landed a job as a waiter in Clarke Quay's " The Cannery ", a string of 5 bars/restaurants that include the "Khandi Bar" and " FBar(Fashion Bar)". More here: The Cannery.

We found out we get free transport back at night so working late doesnt seem like an issue anymore. Hell, i'd do it til the next morning. I think this is going to be rad getting to see what the singapore nightlife is like, and waitressing is something i've always wanted to try! (This of course not affected by my sister's bad encounter with a bitch of a restaurant boss). We filled in Application forms and noted our preferences so from there we're gonna be picked out for the respective bars. I'm hoping i get Fashion Bar or The Clinic though, drinks in test tubes seem awesome!

Anyway, went to play pool after that at Meridien.. where i mercilessly slaughtered Edward and Firdaus!(I won't count that win when you shot a black in Jared lol.) Went to check out Vivo City after that and it sure is huge. I don't think i'd hang around there often though. Its really stuffy/crowded and the place feels like a giant tin can to me. Dont ask.

Jamming tmr with 4E4 metal band. (yup thats one off my checklist) Enter Sandman and Dance of Death! Headbangers for life!

Oh, and we met Ms.Sim at Vivo.

Sick Society.

Ok im guessing you guys have heart about the Wee Shu Min case. If you havent, : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Sg_Review/messages/2720?xm=1&m=e&l=1 .

She(Or He?) thinks that she's part of the elite. Now what kind of an attitude is that? Is this the type of students we in singapore are breeding? Naive and heartless degenerates who grow up becoming spoilt brats feeling that they are above others? I think its becoming very evident that our moral values are being corroded. Sure the education system aims to nurture talent and academics, but without a proper moral base these things mean nothing.

Now we can see that in the post she criticises Derek's english, implying her english is of a much higher standard. What poppycock she speaks... Many people my age (16) could easily out-debate her and her very essay-orientented english. Someone might be in RJC and the like, but still be the lowest ranking human being on earth because of his/her poor ability to associate with others. Life on earth is not about proving how academically superior we are, rather it is about helping each other out and being there when someone needs you. Your so called successes on earth are just material things people do to satisfy themselves.

She also claims to have a brighter future than most people. In terms of what? I wonder if she has accomplished anything significant thus far. Worked at an orphanage? Aided the disabled? or even helped an old lady cross the road? Now i'm talking about doing these things on a voluntary basis, not a compulsory field trip some school organises.

THE APOLOGY.

So anyway her father came up with an apology: http://thewormiepage.wordpress.com/2006/10/25/a-lesson-learnt-says-mp-and-dad-wee-siew-kim

This is really distressing. Do we really have such uncaring ministers unwilling to compromise and take time off to understand the state of society in singapore? We learn in schools, especially in propaganda-infused social study text books that singapore is a melting pot not just of various races, but of different social classes as well. However here we have someone who is evidently highly discriminate towards a certain social class.

What is this tiny island coming to when leaders and students are nurtured in a spoilt environment to become extremely critical of others? I guess only time will tell..

5 hours to ............

The big cahuna is finally here. My O level written examinations begins today with art! I think things should be quite smooth after nights of sketch slogging..although im abit worried as to whether i can complete my final work in the very limited time frame of 3 hours. Ahh but that worry can wait. For now i'll sit stoning infront of this computer monitor awaiting the beginning of a month of hell in 5 hours...

That aside. Isn't it interesting how far people would go to become their idols or pose as someone else? People watching in marina square a few days ago i realised how many what i like to call " Rocker Posers " walking around. They waddle around in their horrendously done mohawks and paul-twohill hairstyle attempted hair, accesorising themselves as much as possible. Well for starters they dont even fit any rock category. Hell, they dont even have their own freaking identity. These posers walk around thinking their metal heads or punks when all they listen to are gay mainstream stuff like Simple plan, blink182, Good charlotte. But i guess thats not the issue for them; they want to show the world they are cool. *spits on the floor*

Real scene kids wouldnt be parading about a shopping centre showing the whole world they shop at 77th street or even Ocean Pacific. They listen their music and couldnt give two shits what others think of them.

Why the need to pose to be cool? Just be your own fucking self dammit.
