It's been ages since a substantial, full-bodied post.
This .... wont be any different!
Life here in the West is beginning to feel a little more homey, though that nagging feeling of
" i miss you guys and the awesomeness that is the east side " still tugs at my shirt, threatening to destabilize the hierarchy of life itself and the space time continuum. Well, maybe not that extreme.
It has however been comforting to know that i have a friend 5 minutes away!
I've started work at Starbucks and i will proclaim that it is quite possibly the best part-time job i've ever done! I love everything about it. Aside from amazing fellow partners and coffee baristas, the environment and people interaction everyday is just amazing. Above all, getting to know coffee on a more personal level is definitely a contributing factor.
Still remember an old but corny saying they used to put up on the TV's at ST.PAT'S:
If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.
No doubt something posted by Brother Edward! Fuck. I miss St.pat's and the shit that came with it.

yeah.
Songwriting sessions have been pretty smooth, specially with the completion of a certain few songs. oh yeah. Can't wait to see them put to use, along with the addition of some kick ass drum beats from new drummer Anton! Always good working with a good friend. Not to mention he sure can hold a beat. (looking forward to some wicked fills too)
On another note, got that starbucks job!
Training's next week for a few days and i'll have to go through a first impression but hey, im not complaining! I'm this much --------> closer to capital for my home *ahem jamming studio!
wicked. OHOH. Extra cash too after being "hired" by Caleb and Wei Jie to give Guitar Lessons! AHAHA. Can't wait, its not a hell load of cash but a boost of 280 bucks per month for playing my guitar with two peeps? I'd say that's fair enough!
This video of Hotel California is immensely wicked! Love the solo from 6:06. Trumpet opening at the beginning is impossibly righteously amazing!

gression from a latin, spanish-world feeling guitar solo to the more intense almost pseudo smooth-jazz-ish later feel. So much feeling, goddamn. And Mikael Akerfeldt's voice is smooth and amazingly adapted to the band's sound. Damn, i gotta work on my scales. Been planning on working intensively with harmonics, along with the expriment on Japanese modes! oooh yeah. Holiday's come quick.
